Google Drive

I was checking for updates to the applications installed on my Android phone and to my surprise, the Google Docs apps was changed into.. Google Drive :)
Now most of you may already know by now that Google was working on a cloud storage and collaboration service under the name Google Drive. And it started rolling it out today with 5GB of free storage to start with.

The described feature set is amazing, what I loved most about it is the ability to share content with others through Gmail, this should overcome the attachment file size limitation.

What is even more beautiful is the fact that you can create and use various file formats (30 of them) without having the software that handles them on your machine.

I would surely love to keep an eye on how this new product from Google will affect other such services like DropBox, iCloud, SkyDrive and Box. Most of these services promise different features like universal sync across multiple devices, and various platform and file format support and so on. But to be honest, looking at the Google Apps for Business product line, I can predict that Google Drive which is already listed there as part of the bundle, will be an extremely good addition.
